I sat down to write this post four hours ago. It did not get written four hours ago. Instead, I was distracted by the new version of Wordpress (v2.2). I went to download it, as I’m sure I’m overdue for an update; but before I installed it, I wanted to get it set up locally to test because I hate updating and having it end up broken. Turns out I haven’t copied this site to my local server yet, so I started doing that. Of course, that had to be problematic, so after a while of putsing around with my WAMP install, I downloaded the EVE-Online 14 day trial and became thoroughly distracted.
I have not played enough of EVE to make a solid review, but I plan to play it some more over the next week or two and really get a feel for the game. I still wish upon wishes that Guild Wars wasn’t so boring; I’ve tried time and again to get into it, but it just lacks any kind of pull (aside from a beautiful world). Star Wars Galaxies had such potential, but they killed that real quick. Asheron’s Call is dwindling away after 7 some years in the industry. I hear Vanguard is pretty good, and that LotRO is worthwhile, too. I actually watched the Grammys with someone who was (is?) working on LotRO; that was really cool. (Oblivion is still fun, but it lacks human interaction being a single player title.)
(My writing felt really forced tonight; I’m out of practice :/)

For those who have become annoyed by MySpace defaulting to Ireland for the main site (ex: IE.MySpace.com link at the top, Irish flag, etc), you just have to change your Preferred Site & Language.
To do so, follow these steps (it takes not even 30 seconds):
- Log in (dur)
- Click “Home” in the upper-left hand part of the part to return to your home page (where you see if you have new messages, comments, etc).
- Underneath where it says “Welcome, [YOUR NAME]!“, right below Edit Profile, there’s a link that says Account Settings; click that. (Or you can try clicking this link to jump right to the page.)
- Now scroll down, and the second to last option is Preferred Site & Language and it has a drop down menu to the right. Click the drop down menu and select www.myspace.com - English (or whatever your preferred site/language is).
That’s it, you’re done!
While you’re there, you might as well adjust your Time Zone setting if you haven’t done so already. I notice that a lot of people have goofy times on the messages in the inbox and comments and bulletins because they never set it to their correct time zone.
That’s all for this installment, kids!

Seriously, could I not have come up with a more original title that that? At any rate, it is a new year, and for whatever reason now is the time we’re supposed to make changes and improvements in our lives. That’s right; if you haven’t made a “resolution” yet, you’re too late and will just have to wait until next year.
On improvements, however, this is a nice list for improving your blog from lifehack (which I admittedly mistook as a redesign of Lifehacker).
When I walked Cassie to her car I couldn’t help but stare at the beauty of the moon this evening: it’s invigorating glow penetrated the nighttime darkness and was encompassed by a rainbow ring up in the night sky.
Here’s an HDR merge of some of the shots I took before determining I wanted to go back to the semi-warmth of my house:
