Blah Blah Valentine’s
Yes, yes. Yes, yes, yes, yes, yes. Yes. “Fuck Valentine’s Day.” Yes, we all know this. Thank you. Enough with the bulletins already two days prior to the holiday, bulletin board flooded and aggression reigning supreme. You know what? I don’t have a Valentine this year, either. In fact? I’ve NEVER had a Valentine’s Day where I could sit down and spend the night with that special someone and really get the most out of the holiday. The two years I’ve had a Valentine, they were in a another city because I was away at school. Yet, how is it that I’m not turning everything over the next two days to a foul hatred for the holiday and those who will celebrate it?
Try this: take it easy, calm down, and take a step back. You’ll be fine. Go out and have some fun with friends. Give your best friend a Valentine. I don’t know, do something. Do be sure to take note that sitting at home wallowing in your sadness will not propel your situation in a forward moving direction. No. I will go so far as to say it will hinder it.

I’ve come to like Valentine’s day more when I’m single than when I’m dating someone. There’s no pressure to pick out the perfect present when you’re not seeing anyone… instead, I’ll send valentines to whoever I want and laugh at everyone who’s depressed because they’re single. It’s all a state of mind.
Side note: I don’t think I’ve ever done the ’sit down and spend the evening with someone on valentine’s day’ thing either, mostly due to school… does this make us unusually awesome?
